About Toys for Tats

The Toys for Tats Story

In the spirit of the holidays we feel that it is important to contribute to the local community. Toys for Tats was originally started in 2003 by Atomic Tattoos in an effort to contribute back to the local community by giving a gift voucher for every toy donated at one of their stores. Since that time we have collected over 23,000 toys valued at $115,000 and have helped almost 7,500 families in need during the holidays. All through the cooperation and support of the Tattoo and Body Piercing industry.

The Toys for Tats Mission

Toys for Tats' mission is to provide an incentive for consumers to donate a toy at participating stores to support local families in need during the holidays. The Toys for Tats Promotional Campaign is in coordination with the Marine’s Toys for Tots Foundation. We are honored that our participating stores are accepted as official drop-off centers for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and they have endorsed and are extremely excited about our Toys for Tats program. Toys for Tots began in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. For more information you can visit there site at www.toysfortots.org.

The Future of Toys for Tats

Toys for Tats was originally started in 2003 as an in house project by Atomic Tattoos as part of their many Social Responsibility Campaigns. Since that time interest in participation has grown within the Tattoo and Body Piercing industry and therefore we welcome the participation of Tattoo and Body Piercing studios throughout the world. As well, any other business that believes in the power of Social Responsibility is welcome to participate.
